The Reluctant Poet

And yet, try as you might,
you cannot escape the fact
that words must be used--

ideas expressed,
beauties acknowledged,
praises sung.

And no matter how much, Moses,
you plead weakness with words,
still, someone must sing,

and even in the face of
years of wadded paper
the question remains

why not you?

  1. Glad to have discovered your blog! From the title I assume you are also a Tolkien admirer? I love your description of the Realm, the synthesis of Faerie and Heaven. The thrilling quest for the wonderful, the Beautiful, for Joy that is terrible and otherworldly, that turns out to be the dangerous, fantastical quest for God. An incredible reality.

I absolutely love this poem! Thank you for sharing.
